I wouldnt call myself a massive fan of Neil Young, but I must admit, I do like to hear his stuff from time to time. Although not too much. Time Fades away is a Live album from his 1972 Tour with The Stray Gators.

The Time Fades Away Album
Time Fades Away is a Live album from the Canadian born American Folk-Rock singer, Songwriter and musician Neil Young. It was produced by Phil Brown and released on the 15th of October, 1973 on Reprise Records. This was the First album of the ‘Ditch Trilogy’, a series of Live albums recorded on his 1972 Tour with his backing band The Stray Gators following the release of his Hit Album ‘Harvest’.
However, Neil Young wasn’t happy with the tour, so although the record was cut on Vinyl with a limited number of copies pressed, he had it omitted from his catalogue. So when Compact Discs came into being Time Fades Away wasn’t made available. It was finally released on CD in 2017. All of the songs on the album were from the 1972 Harvest tour. But ‘Love in Mind’ was taken from his 1971 tour.
But even the Vinyl copies were pretty scarce and there were a lot of pirate copies around on Cassette Tape and later CD copies. I remember borrowing the original from my uncle when I was about 14 and listening to it loads. It had a great Live atmosphere to the sound. I love Live albums for that.
What did you think of that then?
Well I thought that was quite a nice album to listen to again. It’s the First time I’ve heard this album for years, although I used to listen to it quite a lot when I was in my Early teens. But that was some time ago. So it was nice to hear again. What about yourself? What did you think of the album? Did you like it? Are you a fan of Neil Young’s music or is it not for you?
Well, whatever your thoughts or Opinions on it be, we’d love to read about them in the comments below. Here at The Collective Jukebox we just love a bit of juicy discussion when it comes to the Music that we share on here.
