Who were The Pogues?
The Pogues were a band of London-Irish musicians in London who infused Punk music with the Traditional Irish ballads they’d grew up with, thus creating a fusion that would go on to influence many future artists and groups.
The band had 5 Studio albums as the full band including lead singer and song writer Shane MacGowan. Although the band continued to release another Two albums after Shane’s departure. Firstly with Ex Clash front man Joe Strummer on the Pogue Mahone album. Then the groups Whistle player Spider Stacey took on vocals for the groups last album Waiting for Herb in 1994.
