Who were the Moody Blues?
The Moody blues were a 1960’s Rock band from Birmingham, England. They were formed in 1964 by Graeme Edge on the drums, Denny Laine on guitar and vocals, Mike Pinder on the keyboards and vocals), Ray Thomas singing and playing various instruments, and Clint Warwick on the bass and vocals.
They quickly became part of the British Beat and R&B scene and secured a Number One hit with their debut single ‘Go Now’ in Late 1964. The single also reached the Top 10 in the U.S Billboard Chart in Early 1965. In 1966, Denny Laine and Clint Warwick left the group. Laine was replaced by Justin Hayward on the Guitar and Vocals, while John Lodge took over on Bass from Warwick.
The group released their Debut album The Magnificent Moodie’s in July 1965. Although the album was a success as well as the Hit singles that came from it. However, their agents Ridgepride ripped them off. They done a bunk with all the money raised from record sales. The band was left in the lurch and looking like they were about to draw their last breath. But then Beatles Manager Brian Epstein took the Moody Blues on and they signed a record deal with Decca in the UK and with London Records in the U.S.
