- American Rock group The Byrds release their Psychedelic single ‘Eight Miles High’ in the United States. However, the single is banned in several states due to allegations of the songs Lyrics were advocating Drug use.
- Estadio Azteca is opened in Mexico City ahead of the 1968 Summer Olympics.
- Pop Group The Beatles release their Studio Album ‘Revolver’ on the 5th of August.
- The Rolling Stones perform along with The Who and The Beatles at The Empire Pool in Wembley, London for the NME’s Poll Winners Show.
- The Movie ‘ The Professionals’ which received Three Oscar Nominations is premiered. The Movie features Claudia Cardinale, Lee Marvin and Burt Lancaster.
- Boxing Heavyweight Champion of 1986, the Iron Mike Tyson was Born in Newyork on the 30th of June.
- The Who release their Second Album, A Quick One with a Nine Minute “Mini Opera”.
- The Baltimore Orioles win the Baseball World Series.
- England Football Team Win a 4-2 Victory against West Germany and win the 1966 World Cup at Wembley after extra Time.
- Irish Pop & Reggae Singer Sinead O’Connor is born on the 8th of December
- The Cartoonist Walt Disney Dies on the 15th of December at age 65. He was the Founder of Disney productions and invented the iconic cartoon Characters Mickey Mouse, Mini Mouse, Donal Duck, Goofy, Pluto and many more as well as a string of Blockbuster feature films.
- The Yardbirds Debut their Twin Lead Guitar Line-up featuring Jeff beck and Jimmy Page at The Royal Albert Hall in London.
- Jimi Hendrix Arrives in London to record with Producer & Manager Chris Chandler.
