Johnny Too Bad by UB40
Johnny Too Bad Lyrics
Walking down the road
With a pistol in your waist
Johnny you’re too bad
Walking down the road
With a ratchet in your waist
Johnny you’re too bad
[Chorus]
You’re just robbin’ and stabbin’
And lootin’ and shooting’
You’re too bad (repeat)
One of these day’s
When you hear a voice say come,
Where you gonna run to?
One of these day’s
When you hear a voice say come,
Where you gonna run to?
[Chorus]
You’re gonna run to the rock
For rescue, there’ll be no rock
You’re gonna run to the rock
For rescue, there’ll be no rock
Who are UB40?
UB40 are a Reggae group from Birmingham, England who formed in December 1978. The group consists of a diverse multicultural background, with members of English, Welsh, Irish, Jamaican, Scottish, and Yemeni origin. They write and perform Reggae songs as well as covering some of the old reggae classics of the late 1960’s.
UB40 have gained worldwide success over the years. However, they have had over 50 Hit Singles in the UK alone. They have been nominated for a Grammy Award Four times now. The band were heavily Influenced by the original Reggae and Ska artists such as Junior Murvin, Bob Marley Jimmy Ruffin and even Elvis Presley.
The gr5oup had a solid line-up from birth up til 2008. However, in 2008, lead singer Ali Campbell and Keyboard player Mickey Virtue left the group. In 2013, Astro also left the group and teamed up with Campbell and Virtue to form a new, revamped UB40. This however, caused some conflict between the Trio and the existing members of the band (who had recruited new lead singer Duncan Campbell) over who can use the name. However, this was never really resolved as many of the band members would die due to Ill health over the following few years.
